My deep hope is for you to understand the power of unless, and for you to grow in your understanding of who you are, and how your story is used in God's big picture.
My name is Kassie Rubbelke. I have spent a good portion of my life, 12 years to be exact, growing up in a small Alberta town called Empress. It was there that I grew a passion and love for the outdoors. Myself along with my two brothers had to be inventive on things to do, as the population of the town was 70 people. I grew up very close with my brothers, we were an unstoppable force. However, we grew apart when we made the move to Medicine Hat, Alberta. I branched off into more of the athletics, playing basketball, volleyball, cross country running and track and field. It was in my sports that I found success and discipline. My journey soon took me to Vancouver Island, where I was fortunate enough to live in the beautiful Comox Valley for 4 months of the summer. I thought I enjoyed the outdoors before, but living on Vancouver Island really opened up my eyes to the possibilities of adventure and it has really lit a fire in my heart. I strive to in still a love for the outdoors and appreciation of our beautiful world in every person I meet. Outside of school I can now be found on the mountain snowboarding or skateboarding around in the summer, or in the gym weight training. We are made in God's image, our bodies are a temple, so I strive to keep my body fit, healthy and glorifying God by challenging myself and immersing myself in his beautiful creation.
A quote that runs my life is: "How cool is it that the same God who created the mountains, trees, and universe, still decided the world needed one of you too. You exist for a reason." I've made it my life's mission to instill the belief in everyone I meet, that they matter. Our existence isn't by accident, we each have an important role to play and it's up to each of us as individuals to call people to step up into those roles, to help them realize that they are capable of doing big things like changing the world. I love people. I'm fascinated by everyone I meet and am always wondering why God brought them into my life, even if it was for a moment. We are all connected in something much larger than ourselves, and it's this connection, a connection that is so intricate and complicated yet beautifully simple that drives us. That connection is God. That connection is his story woven together with stories of our own. A story so grand that it takes each and every one of us to contribute and play a part. My goal and my commitment is: to inspire and promote uniqueness and individuality in each and every student. I want to encourage my students to continue dreaming big throughout their lifetime and realize that they exist for a reason and are capable of greatness, whatever that may look like to them. I want to inspire my students to embrace their potential and what makes them special, to be genuine citizens and enjoy their life and the learning process. |
